I did, however, find time to get the Airolg into a studio for some quality shots. As usual, this isn't 100% period-correct, but it definitely is rideable for over 200km! Unfortunately, the bike is awaiting a couple of part changes to get it back on the road by the time the rest of our three-foot snowfall melts. More on that (possibly), later. In the meantime... enjoy more old Italian steel, l'Eroica style!

30's Airolg Vittoria Margherita from l'Eroica
I've been quiet for some time now. It's really a function of being tight-lipped about Cannondale Pro Cycling prior to its launch and being too busy with said team (and job) following the launch.

Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing. Finally got our Eroica projects back in the shop in Iowa, hope to maybe have 'em ready to bring over here to Italia this fall for some epoca events in 2014 or 2015.
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful old gal. Lovely photography.
ReplyDeleteJust discovered your blog and am having fun going back through the older entries. Am I understanding correctly that you're from Iowa ? My hometown is there (living in Colorado now). Rode L'Eroica (the 135K route) this past Oct. While my bike wasn't anywhere near as old as what you've ridden it does have the distinction of having the frameset built by me. Loved the ride - plan on going back and doing it again sometime soon.
Ciao,
John Price
This is a gorgeous bike and I look forward to seeing it on the road at l'Eroica 2013. I will return with the trusty Peugeot PXN-10 but plan to upgrade the dreadful Weinmann brakes beforehand.
